Mentoring and Outreach

Outside of research, I am passionate about engaging with the public and our next generation of scientists. I plan to contribute to withstanding organizations that aim to demystify the process of becoming a scientist in order to make the astrophysical community more equitable and diverse.

Science Research Mentoring:

As a graduate student partnered with the American Museum of Natural History, I have had the opportunity to be a mentor to a group of 3 high school students in the Science Research Mentoring Program (SRMP). Over the course of the year, these students learn basic astronomy, coding and machine learning techniques to apply to a research project in the field of brown dwarf science. Public Talks:

I am also eager to bring my science to the general public, giving talks in nearby schools and at Astronomy on Tap NYC.
